"The Pulse of Dance", became the #1 blockbuster for the first weekend

After the phenomenal premiere of the first Bulgarian sports dance film "The Pulse of Dance", it became the #1 blockbuster for the first weekeng.

"The Pulse of Dance" is the first Bulgarian film that tells about the lives of people dedicated to sports dancing. It hits theaters on February 9 and is distributed by bTV Studios. A film with a cause that aims to provoke interest in this sport and reveal what it means to know your body and have control over it.

Director Georgi Kostov once again showed that he is a patron of young talents. Along with the entire constellation of Bulgarian actors, Niki Iliev, Bashar Rahal, Ivaylo Zahariev, Raina Karayaneva, Lyubomir Kovachev, Stan Yanevski, Sara Draguleva, the names of Martina Kondaklieva, multiple republican champion, and Georg Kiryakov appeared. Georg himself has been involved in sports dancing since he was 5 years old and has been professionally engaged in it for more than 15 years. As a child and teenager, he participated in many national and international competitions and won a bunch of awards, as a representative of a sports dance school from his native Burgas. He is also in the lead role in the film.

The story in the film revolves around the 10-year-old Martina (played by Martina Kondaklieva, a multiple republican champion), who is a sports dance competitor, and her ambitious mother, a former dancer, who does the impossible to make her a champion of Bulgaria. The thorny road to victory takes the girl to Viktor - an eccentric young coach who has already won the championship title, and who is having a hard time breaking up with his partner. He and Martina manage to help each other and overcome the problems.

They both enter the cinema with a dance, but the story the film tells is primarily about human relationships and the love we can give to each other.

The film immerses the inhabitants in the world of folk dances - the kingdom of darkness, power, and exaltation. As always in the human world, dark games are not excluded. The life of street dances has all its dark secrets, where the vote of the people will decide the winner.

"I am glad that we were able to film "The Pulse of Dance" and realize it with the financial support of the Municipality of Burgas. It was a real pleasure for me to work with the team and capture beautiful views and shots in this first Bulgaria sports dance film. I like to experiment and challenge myself by making films in different genres and I think this film will also appeal to the audience because it touches on current issues and everyone will find something for themselves in it," said the director Georgi Kostov.

I will be really happy if "The Pulse of the Dance" will inspire more and more teenagers to start playing sports and build healthy habits. Unfortunately, in everyday life, we see a very negative influence on the young generation, and I sincerely hope that with good examples, sports, and education, this will change!"
