The Coaches Club at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, from August 19th to 27th


The Global Athletics Coaching Academy (GACA), on behalf of World Athletics, is delighted to announce the Coaches Club at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, from August 19th to 27th.

The Budapest 23 Coaches’ Club is an onsite and online daily meeting place. An outstanding opportunity for coaches to grow their network and share in the excellent learning opportunities presented there and afforded by the WA Championships.

You can join one, two or both sessions every day. Further information will be provided closer to the time. This is an opportunity too good to be missed. Please register your interest below. Attendance is free of charge.


Frank Dick, Chair of the Global Athletics Coaching Academy

Frank Dick is one of the UK’s best and most consistently inspiring motivational speakers. Frank is currently the Chair (and architect) of World Athletics Global Athletics Coaching Academy. Frank Dick is also President of the European Athletics Coaches Association. He is also currently working as Performance Consultant to the Australian Equestrian Team.

In 2016 Frank held the position of High Performance Director at SASCOC (South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee) where he was the consultant to South Africa’s top coaches and athletes at the Rio Olympics and Paralympics. RSA achieved 10 medals with 2 Gold, 6 Silver & 2 Bronze. Four of those medals were won in athletics. Frank’s area of expertise.

In 2016 Frank was invited by Eddie Jones to undertake a challenging position in the UK as the Strategic Planning Consultant to the England Rugby Leadership Team in preparation for the Rugby World Cup in 2019 in Japan.

From 1979 to 1994 he was the British Athletics Federations’ Director of Coaching, where he was widely acknowledged as and remains one of the outstanding sports coaches and coach mentors in the world. In this position Frank led the British Athletics team into its ‘Golden Era’ with Olympic Gold Medallists such as Daley Thompson and he created training programmes for individuals such as Gerhard Berger, Katerina Witt, Boris Becker and Justin Rose.
