National Day in Singapore, 2023 "Onward As One"

“Onward As One” calls upon Singaporeans to look forward confidently and move onward together in building our shared future as one united people.

National Day themes are always a call for solidarity and this year's is no different. "Onward As One" is all about looking ahead with confidence and optimism and building a shared future together. It shows in the new logo too, which depicts a lion's head gazing towards five starts and the horizon.

Logo

The logo portrays Singapore’s determination to come together to build a shared future.

Lion Head

The lion head looking forward confidently and resolutely beyond the curve, which symbolises the horizon, represents our nation coming together with the determination to build a shared future.

Number “58”

The number “58” embedded in the lion’s head reminds us of how far we have come in the past 58 years.

The Five Stars

The five stars represent the nation’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. These ideals will firmly anchor Singaporeans as we move onward as one.

Upward Direction of the Logo

The logo is also angled upward to represent the aspirations of Singaporeans to take Singapore to greater heights, amidst any challenges that may lie ahead.

True to its theme of Onward As One, this year's National Day Parade (NDP) promises that everyone has a part to play, regardless of abilities.

An educator who was born deaf will play a big role in the parade's grand finale, while a dancer with Down syndrome will take central stage in the film segment.

The spectacle aims to be accessible to all walks of life, with segments showcasing the diversity and dreams of Singaporeans.
