Huawei Morocco Launches 10th “Seeds for the Future Program”

Huawei Morocco launched its “Seeds for the Future” program’s tenth edition, which is set to take place from August 28 to September 4 in Casablanca.

Fifty participants are set to take part in the event, ten of whom are students from Mauritania.

Through training sessions in soft skills in the latest technologies, such as Cloud Computing, 5G, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the program seeks to expand the participants’ knowledge and interpersonal skills.

In addition, several soft-skills training sessions are planned, as well as team-building activities that will aim to contribute to fostering exchange, communication, and teamwork among participants.

Faustin Xu, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Morocco, assured that the company pays particular attention to the transfer of knowledge and skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to its various stakeholders:

“Huawei considers social commitment to be a structuring parameter of its growth model,” stated Xu, stressing that “the ground-breaking 'Seeds for the Future' program demonstrates our ongoing commitment to developing the digital talent ecosystem in Morocco and around the world, with a particular focus on the student population."

Strengthening Digital Ecosystem in Morocco

As part of its mission to strengthen the digital ecosystem in Morocco, Huawei Morocco is aiming to contribute to the development of Moroccan talent's skills in the fields of ICT and the digital economy.

One of the attractions of this ongoing Seeds for the Future 2023 program will be the potential for talented individuals to participate in the Tech4Good Startup Sprint, which will be hosted in China in the coming few months.

Participants will also benefit from free access to the "Seeds Academy" online platform, packed with resources to help them develop their project.

Thus, the selected participants will have the option to become what Huawei dubs "Global Ambassadors," a title that will open doors to participation in conferences both in Morocco and other countries, offering them an unparalleled chance to widen their horizons.

Since the kick-off for this event, Moroccan talents have effortlessly integrated into the Seeds for the Future 2023 initiative. They have also undergone extensive soft skills training that added a new level of competency to their skill set.

The three participating teams have had online meetings, several workshops, and seminars with their mentors to learn how “future network enables metaverse immersive experience” using 5G technology, how to develop oneself in the world of business, and to enhance teamwork strategy.

The participants also had the opportunity to ask Huawei experts questions about the use of AI and Digital Power in daily life. Frequently asked questions covered whether AI can be trusted in the realm of medicine, what domains that AI encompasses, the challenges that AI currently faces, among other questions.

In its 10th edition, the Seeds for the Future program introduces a new feature, a live progress monitor that allows participants to see how their growth develops over time. Their successes serve as benchmarks that direct them towards their objectives.

This year, the program will once again provide participants with enriching experiences, while emphasizing Huawei's values of sharing, collaboration, and innovation.

The event has been organized in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, as well as the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

The "Seeds for the Future 2023" program is fully in line with Huawei Morocco's vision and values, as efforts are made to support the training of young talent, promote innovation, and play an active part in the emergence of a competitive Moroccan digital economy.
